If permission is approved, you then you need to locate a local professional to perform the work for you.
It’s definitely not a DIY job as the council will have criteria that contractors must meet. Several will only permit you to use their approved contractors, while others allow you to use your own, so long as they are accredited to the requirements of the New Roads and Street Works Act 1991, and hold public liability insurance. In this case, there might be an additional charge for highway inspections by the council.
